To progress her career within the field of leadership education, this certification is an incredible and timely opportunity to not only grow her repertoire, but also share the wealth of this development with her colleagues.
Michelle McCoy, Administrative Secretary and Medical Student Coordinator for the Department of Urology at the Wexner Medical Center. Michelle has been integral in implementing a summer ‘UroScholars’ program for underrepresented medical students. She has served a critical role in the recruitment of students for this experience, placing them in appropriate clinical settings, and providing them with needed faculty, clinical, and research support. She would like to bring that type of skillset – with appropriate additional training – to resident education as well, which would be of critical use to her department and its ongoing education and outreach goals. Michelle’s nomination stated that has been an excellent and critical addition to her department’s strategic and education goals. She throws herself wholeheartedly into everything that she takes on, and surely this experience and opportunity will be no exception.
