President-Elect/Awards Chair
The incoming president, who will serve as the President-Elect/Awards Chair, must be a current or past board members and elected by the current Executive Board. Collaborates with the President to learn the role, to become familiar with the programs of ASFW and its governance, and to develop and facilitate officer transition; in the absence of the President, shall preside at all meetings and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned; assist the Programs Co-Chairs; lead award nomination, application and voting processes; welcome new board members; and set retreat/planning meeting date.
Webmaster
Updates and maintains content management of ASFW website; and helps ensure that photographs and videos are taken at various programs throughout the year.
Membership Co-Chair: New Members
Works collaboratively with the Membership Co-Chair for Renewing Members to maintain database of association members and provide monthly database reports; welcomes and communicates with new members; answers questions regarding membership and conducts semester info sessions for new/interested members; responsible for recruiting new members.
Membership Co-Chair: Renewing Members
Works collaboratively with the New Member Co-Chair to maintain database of association members and provide monthly database reports; engages non-members following ASFW events and welcomes new members; determines membership renewal and sends e-mail reminders; confirms membership and answers questions regarding membership; and helps conducts semesterly informational sessions in conjunction with other ASFW chairs.
Conferences Co-Chair
Coordinates and manages all conference details in collaboration with members of the relevant committee (or committees), which include, but are not limited to: reservation of venues/locations, catering and other core logistics; researching and contracting with keynote speakers and participants; drafting and providing promotional language for distribution; and guest services such as support with registration, distribution of post-conference surveys, and coordination of any volunteers and other day-of event needs. The goal is to create an experience that celebrates successes, challenges attendees, and continues to engage our community.
Registration and Data Chair
Responsible for database maintenance and events registration; provides reports on event registration; receives/track payments with registrations for programming events; prepares check-in table for in-person events, list of pre-registered attendees for events and tally of any no-shows; sends prepared post-event survey to attendees; serves as primary contact for and liaison between database vendor, keeping track of updates and new features.
Treasurer
Manages financial resources including financial transactions and information; receives, deposits, and distributes funds as authorized by the Executive Board.
Positions are a three-year commitment. Executive Board nominees must be current ASFW members prior to submitting your application. Join or renew here! Expect to commit three to five hours per month to the role. The deadline to apply for a board role is Saturday, March 1st at 12:00AM EST
Voting will take place electronically sometime between March and April 2025. Only those with ASFW memberships current as of February 1, 2025 will be eligible to vote.
Newly elected board members are introduced during the Ballam Symposium on Friday, May 9th.
