About the Ballam Symposium
The Ballam Symposium is the Association of Staff and Faculty Women Plus (ASFW+) signature annual professional development event, bringing together staff and faculty from across The Ohio State University for a day of learning, inspiration, and connection.
Each year, the Symposium explores a unique theme designed to encourage personal and professional growth through engaging speakers, meaningful conversations, networking opportunities, and interactive experiences. The event provides participants with practical insights, fresh perspectives, and valuable connections that support success both within and beyond the workplace.
This in-person, inclusive event is open to all.

In Honor of Deborah A. Ballam
Named in honor of Dr. Deborah A. Ballam, former Associate Provost for Women's Policy Initiatives and Director of The Women's Place, the Ballam Symposium celebrates her legacy of advancing gender equity, fostering leadership, and creating positive change throughout The Ohio State University community. Through this annual event, ASFW+ continues its commitment to empowering professionals, building community, and supporting lifelong learning.
